It took me quite a while to realise that focusing on one thing in your business at a time actually made me more productive.

When I first started I didn’t have any idea of how to run a business which meant that I just kept doing tasks and not really getting anywhere.

When I finally acknowledge that I had depression I had to look at what I was doing in my business and how I could actually do things better.

I finally came to the realisation that I was spending to much energy on just getting tasks done instead of actually achieving bigger achievements like creating a newsletter plan. Once I had a plan I could then design my newsletter template and start writing them.

Below are the 5 reasons why I believe it is so important to focus on one thing at a time.

1: Multi tasking scatters our energy

It is now a known fact that multi tasking is not the way to go anymore. The reason is that we are not as productive as we thought and the tasks may not actually get done. Instead they may get half done and then we have to come back to them the next day.

Multi tasking scatters your energy and can make you less focused. I also work with the chakras to help with my energy.

2: We actually get something achieved in our business

By focusing on one thing at a time we achieve what we had planned. This also helps our mindset and we will then achieve even more.

3: It increases your productivity

When you focus on just one thing in your business at a time you are more productive because your focus is just on that one task. Being more productive helps to move your business forward faster.

4: You feel better because you have accomplished something

When you accomplish something in your business you feel so much better.  Every time I achieve something such as writing a blog it feels so good and my mindset improves even more. By keeping our mindset in a more positive frame we keep accomplishing what we set out to do.

5: You get to concentrate and think creatively

By doing one thing at a time you concentrate more clearly and are much more focused. When I concentrate on one thing I do it in bursts of 25 minutes. This is called the Pomodoro Technique. I also notice that my creativity is increased when I concentrate on one thing and the ideas come flooding in.

These are my 5 reasons why it is important to focus on one thing at a time.

I believe in this so much that i created the 6 Weeks to One Thing Program. In this program we discover what is the most important goal and then work together to achieve that. Your goal could be creating your newsletter plan and writing one. If this sounds like the ideal program for you then book in a complimentary call where we can discuss this further.
